TTG Creates Spooky & Fun Brand Activations for Hershey’s, Totino’s, Wormhole Labs & Honda, PLUS Exhibits, esports Stages, Photo Ops, Live Streaming & More at Twitchcon 2019

Every year, live streaming platform Twitch throws its giant fall event TwitchCon to celebrate everything Twitch. As a go-to resource for gaming and esports activations, The Trade Group has been there since the event launched in 2015—both as a collaborator with Twitch and to support activations for game developers and other clients involved in the esports and gaming space.

Twitch sponsor booths: From a giant wormhole to a haunted house to pizza rolls to game play, FUN ruled the day

The booths TTG created for Twitch sponsors were all designed to optimize the fan experience. From mimicking the streaming rooms of popular streamers for Hershey’s and Reese’s to creating a giant wormhole for Wormhole Labs to an over-the-top Pizza Roll-forward photo op for Totino’s—TTG worked closely with Twitch and several popular brands to deliver a gaming fan’s paradise.

TTG’s Jeremy Crase, who oversaw TTG’s projects at TwitchCon, was excited to see these popular brands step into the esports space. As he explains, “It’s fun to see more non-endemic brands like Honda, Totino’s and Hershey’s partnering with the esports community. It’s definitely an innovative way to get in front of their target audience. Plus, their growing desire to get involved with esports reinforces the power of the industry and events like TwitchCon.”

Hershey’s and Reese’s: For iconic chocolate brands Hershey’s and Reese’s, TTG created Halloween-inspired spaces spotlighting the brand’s popular products. Meet and greets with popular streamers and Halloweenified re-creations of their streaming rooms were highlights of the activation. The Hershey’s Haunted House included three rooms.

  • The Kit Kat room was sponsored by esports team LA Valiant and included a photo op with giant Kit Kat bars.
  • The Cookies N‘ Cream Bar room included a photo op in a set designed to look like streamer DrLupo’s spooky streaming room.
  • The Reese’s room included a photo op in the re-creation of streamer TimTheTatman’s ghoulish streaming room.

“Talk about fun! Fans had the opportunity to grab a couple of treats, meet the celebrity streamers, take advantage of GIF photo ops in the streaming rooms and sign up for daily raffles of Hershey’s Power Packs,” Crase says.

According to Crase, “The client said, ‘Give me a spectacle,’ so that’s what we did. The end result was a giant, wormhole portal you could step through, and ultimately, enter the virtual world of augmented reality that their platform offers. It was the first thing attendees saw as they entered TwitchCon and a definite crowd pleaser.”

Tiltify’s Charity Stage featuring ‘classic game shows’ and more

Fundraising platform Tiltify was looking for a turnkey gameshow stage/broadcast set-solution they could use to raise money for different charities. Throughout the event, teams competed in different games based on classic game shows, often playing off of a streaming theme. Tiltify even held a ramen cooking competition on the stage, which was located in the middle of the 60’x90’ charity pavilion.

TTG managed all details for the installation of the 40’x60’ stage. The turnkey solution included fabrication, printing of graphics, install and dismantle and advanced A/V needs.

The 2019 event was no exception, with TTG handling numerous activations at TwitchCon 2019. These included collaborations with Twitch on several booths for brands sponsoring the event, as well as numerous trade show exhibits to support TTG’s roster of clients. Check out the highlights below!
