An amazing thing happened last December at the XLIVE Conference and Expo: we discovered the next big, guaranteed trade show attention grabber. And, as it turns out, it was in our showroom the whole time: the AirClad XPO.
XLIVE is focused on live events and transforming the way these events impact attendees. Naturally, we had some of our AirClad line on display because we knew these semi-permanent buildings are perfect for outdoor events, and we wanted to show them off.
Yet, while we knew they would impress people with their outside functionality, even we were surprised by the massive reaction they received from the indoor guests.
“We had two different clients using an XPO, and both said that so many people kept asking about it, where they got it, and commenting how ‘amazing’ it was. They said there wasn’t one person who didn’t mention how cool it was when they came to their booth,” said Stephanie Chavez, Marketing Director for The Trade Group.
The XPO is a 10-foot-tall, single-story structure. It was utilized in two ways at the XLIVE event.
One was decked out for the XLIVE Cramer Speaker Lounge. This structure featured printed flooring, light fixtures, decorations, plenty of comfortable seating, and a huge three-dimensional sign on the back wall. It was an impressive sight and kept VIPs comfortable throughout the day.
The other XPO was utilized by FISH Technologies. FISH needed an area where they could step away from the crowd and speak with clients and prospects in a comfortable setting. Somewhere that was visible yet separate from the show floor. So, while the exterior was clearly branded to identify FISH, they opted for minimal, living room style interior that mainly consisted of a monitor and two chairs with a bistro table. It was comfortable and effective; something that fully met their needs but was not over the top. Yet, everyone who stopped by commented on how impressive their display was.
“Over the past 5 years, we have tried a number of engagement strategies at different conferences and trade shows where we have chosen to exhibit. Last month at the XLIVE Annual Conference in Las Vegas, we engaged The Trade Group to help us be on the cutting edge and set us apart from our competitors. What we learned from this experience was that no matter how minimalist or how broad you go with the decorations, the XPO will draw attention at a trade show because it is unique. There is absolutely nothing else like it on the show floor.
The AirClad XPO is a portable unit and features a durable, modern design comprised of sturdy, aluminum supports and a double layer of coated fabric with a securely bonded trim that fits tightly in the aluminum framing channels. The fabric is then pressurized to create tension, which gives AirClad structures rigidity and strength.
The XPO is available in two sizes of approximately 20-feet and 33-feet wide and 8-feet deep. However, this depth can be extended in increments of 8 feet, by simply adding additional AirCells.
Inside, the XPO will set up in a 20×30 island floorplan or bigger. And, like all products in the AirClad line, the XPO is designed for fast, safe installation and shipping.
“AirClad was an incredible addition to the XLIVE trade show floor. Not only did it transform the XLIVE booth where we held interviews, customer meetings and a hosted bar, but our sponsors and exhibitors were able to build out dramatically new exhibit spaces. Every single element of an XPO structure has options for branding. The entire exterior can be branded with a full-graphic wrap (you can even brand the top, if it will be visible from a second story). You can also choose to brand the front, with the option of having clear or tinted Plexiglas panels that include branding.
The XPO can also be decked out with a number of amenities, including:
- Choice of flooring, such as carpet, rollable vinyl, or custom printed flooring.
- Accent lighting and pendant lighting.
- Electrical, sounds systems, A/V equipment, Wi-Fi services, and more.
- Climate control system for extra comfort or to drastically alter the feel of your display from the remainder of the trade show.
You can also choose to include extra insulation for advanced soundproofing, and there are additional options that can provide even more seclusion.
“If you choose to have doors on the XPO and you wanted a private meeting, just shut them and you have instant privacy. But even without door, the XPO can provide much more privacy than most displays. If you want a dark area where you could show a movie or demo, you could actually darken the windows with tint, select solid panels, or put dark vinyl over them,” said Chavez.
Until now, the XPO was utilized in outdoor settings, where it made a big impression at events such as the Park Place Dealerships’ Luxury & Supercar Showcase. We utilized an XPO as our personal lounge and gallery. Clear panels – and open doors – allowed visitors to see and wander inside to view our artwork on the walls – which was long, printed acrylic pieces depicting various AirClad outdoor activations. At other events, the XPO has been converted into an upscale showroom, VIP venue, and fully-functional restaurant.
The XPO has consistently drawn attention to itself at outdoor events, and we believe it will make an equally big – or even bigger – splash when it is used inside.
“The main goal of every single vendor at any trade show and exposition is to get the most attention possible,” said Chavez. “The XPO will absolutely do exactly that. It is an amazing and unique option to use as a rental exhibit that will grab people’s attention and make you stand out from the crowd.”
