After a long hiatus from exhibiting, DEPRAG USA’s partnership with TTG pays off at WESTEC.
DEPRAG USA manufactures and distributes automated assembly equipment in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Based in Germany, DEPRAG has been actively exhibiting in Europe for many years. Aside from a few recent regional shows, DEPRAG USA had not exhibited in North America since 2002, when they decided to sponsor and exhibit at the WESTEC manufacturing show in Los Angeles, September 12-14, 2017.
Re-launching an exhibiting program can be daunting, so DEPRAG asked its ad agency to recommend an exhibit house to help them kick off the process on the right foot. Enter The Trade Group’s Senior Design Consultant, Robin Barhydt.
Following the referral, Barhydt connected with the client about a year prior to the WESTEC show. “Initially, we provided DEPRAG with a portable trade show display they could use at some smaller shows. But WESTEC was different, because it would mark DEPRAG’s debut at a major manufacturing show with a large, 20’x20’ island exhibit.”
Client goals: Raise brand awareness, highlight product demos and clean, minimalistic design.
Since the client was new to exhibiting, Barhydt recommended DEPRAG rent the exhibit structure as a test run, and assured them that The Trade Group would be able customize the exhibit design based on the company’s branding, aesthetic and functional goals.
According to Barhydt, “One of the big challenges of this project was transforming a rental display into a custom-looking exhibit. However, DEPRAG was enamored with the large backlit towers and bridges of the METALLI® Milan display in our showroom, and I knew we could customize the exhibit to make the DEPRAG brand shine.”
How TTG put DEPRAG USA’s stamp on a rental exhibit.
At The Trade Group, we rent trade show exhibits every day, but that doesn’t mean they all look alike. Our design team knows how to transfer our client’s brands into every inch of their exhibits from floor to ceiling and side to side. Such was the case with DEPRAG’s METALLI Milan exhibit.
Bright, clean, minimalistic, white and grey landscape with green logo accents.
The simple design with clean lines was intentional. It allowed DEPRAG’s branding and featured assembly machine to be the stars of the space, while creating an open and welcome feel. The design truly embraced TTG’s 360 degrees of branding philosophy. Along with a sprinkling of small, green potted plants throughout the space, the green DEPRAG logo and branding couldn’t be missed. The logo was featured:
- Welcoming guests at a white, backlit, reception counter.
- Imprinted into the white, custom printed flooring.
- On decals adhered to tables throughout the display.
- On the large, four-sided hanging sign rigged above the space, backlit sign attached to the main bridge and 3-D sign positioned above the largest video monitor.
- A special custom, edge-lit sign with the featured product name in green: Adaptive DFS.
All of these subtle touches transformed a blank slate into a custom-looking trade show exhibit, and the client’s featured equipment was clearly the focal point as guests entered the booth.
Bold, 16’ backlit, towers with bridge.
This feature is what drew DEPRAG to this particular exhibit design. The towers featured custom, backlit SEG fabric graphics with various images of the client’s featured product, the Adaptive DFS. Eight LED pocket lights help brighten up the space.
Shorter, middle accent bridge.
Running perpendicular to the main bridge, the shorter structure added visual interest, eight more LED pocket lights and a backwall with a 60” video monitor running a corporate video in both English and Spanish.
Featured product demo station.
Here, booth staff could demo DEPRAG’s bread and butter product, the Adaptive DFS. The machine was positioned near the center of the space and could be seen from multiple vantage points, from both inside and outside of the booth.

Videos running at the work stations showcased different DEPRAG product lines and provided information related to each line.
The proof is in the results: Happy client, successful show.
The client expressed her appreciation throughout the design and execution process as well as at the conclusion of the WESTEC show.
