Tips for keeping satisfied, happy and in proper health at your conference!
When it comes to the success of a company’s trade show participation, a lot of hard work and effort goes into your success―months of rehearsing and strategizing a marketing plan before arrival, choosing an exhibit that successfully reflects your brand and message, and speaking with each and every attendee who stops by, hoping to connect with a qualified lead.
Because of all of the constant stress and focus that goes into each aspect of a trade show event, it is essential that exhibitors are in tip-top shape so that they can make the most of their exhibit experience. The last thing that you want to happen at your upcoming trade show is to plan so hard that, by the time get there, you are already burned out.
It is important that you are as energetic and ready-to-go as possible when you are standing in your booth. If you’re not interested or excited about your products and services, then there is a good chance that attendees won’t be either. However, staying healthy and happy at a trade show is a little trickier than it sounds.
Luckily, we have put together a list of simple steps that you can take to ensure that you stay fit and healthy at your upcoming trade show:
Stay Fast On Your Toes
One of the most tiring aspects of trade shows is the fact that you are on your feet throughout the day. In order to prevent aching heels and exhausted feet, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and socks. It also helps to switch between pairs of shoes every few hours―this will help to fight against foot and leg fatigue.
Don’t Skip Breakfast
While you may be tempted to just stick to your hotel’s continental breakfast, it is important that you get some proper nutrition and vitamins into your system during your breakfast meal. What you eat in the morning is the fuel that gets you well past the afternoon, therefore you want to ensure that you are putting good food into your system. Try to eat a breakfast that is rich in protein, fruit and fiber.
Keep Yourself Hydrated
When you are standing at your booth all day, talking with attendees, it can be very easy to forget to drink water. However, standing for hours on end in the bright exhibition room can cause dehydration fairly quickly, leaving you both mentally and physically drained. In order to avoid possible dehydration, keep a full water bottle by your side throughout the event and try to drink at least 6-8 cups each day.
Wash Your Hands… A lot
Throughout the entire show, you will likely be shaking the hands of many, many attendees and clients. While this is a good thing for the success of your company, it is a bad thing for your body and immune system. Be sure to keep hand sanitizer nearby so that you can constantly wash your hands and fight away potentially harmful bacteria that you may pick up throughout the day.
As long as you take proper preventative steps to keep yourself happy and healthy at your next trade show, you can help to ensure that you have a much more successful, positive experience―both as an individual and as a company.
