When the founders of award-winning, baby care line Oilogic® needed help shipping their homemade trade show display to and from the Expo West natural products show, they called The Trade Group’s Robin Barhydt. Following the show, they called Robin again. This time they needed help designing a professional-looking display that better reflected Oilogic’s brand personality.
“While Oilogic’s homemade booth was cute, it didn’t successfully portray the brand to consumers or the retailers they hoped would pick up their products,” Robin says.
Oilogic, a division of Ignite Brands, was going to exhibit at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Total Store Expo and needed a professional-looking display that would drive more traffic and raise brand awareness. It was also important to feature and display the brand’s 100% pure essential oil care products for “Babies, Toddlers & Kiddos.”
A Clearly Defined Brand Simplified the Design Process
According to Robin, “Oilogic really put a lot of thought into what they wanted to achieve with the new display. They were looking for a clean, inviting booth that looked like a modern nursery. The display needed to have a fun and whimsical vibe, while meeting functional needs (product display, demonstration and storage).”
Oilogic provided clear brand guidelines and several design ideas that The Trade Group’s exhibit design team could use as a springboard. For example, they shared existing graphics with photos of children using the products and wanted to incorporate natural-looking wood treatments into the space.
Keeping costs in check was another important consideration for Oilogic. As Robin explains, “The client wanted a high-impact, dynamic design, but the display also needed to be economical, portable and scalable for future shows.”
A Light Box Powered by LUMIO™ Technology Delivers the Wow Factor
Based on Oilogic’s design, budget and simple setup needs, Robin and team recommended opting for a Light Box Powered by LUMIO technology as the focal point of the display. With the light box and LUMIO technology option, a large fabric graphic is stretched over a stable, lightweight frame and backlit with LED lights.
“The fabric graphic spans the 10-foot width of the booth space and really brings the nursery theme to life. The graphic includes crown molding at the top, wainscoting on the bottom, wallpaper in between and photos in colored frames that tie back to Oilogic’s brand,” Robin says.
The Devil Is in the Details
An inviting, fabric, turquoise chair, quaint table lamp and functional, cubby product display unit further complement the brand and the nursery theme. Comfortable flooring, imprinted with a natural-looking, wood grain and a reception counter covered with a lighter, wood grain laminate round out the space.
The reception counter features a large graphic that ties nicely into the fabric backwall and further reinforces the Oilogic brand. Functionally, the counter serves as a place to greet visitors, as well as display and demo products. Lockable storage space below keeps products and valuables secure.
According to Robin, “The Oilogic team was delighted with their new display. There was so much attention to detail in the design, which really helped tie everything together and provide a cohesive, branded vibe to the space. Plus, the backlit, fabric graphics using the Light Box with LUMIO technology really pops on the trade show floor.”
The Awards Keep Rolling in for Oilogic
Along with winning a NEXTY Award at Expo West, Oilogic has been recognized by NCW Magazine with an Eco-Excellence Award, and they were the 2016 Product Showcase winner in the Baby Care category at the NACDS Total Store Expo.
