The Trade Group (TTG) won EXHIBITOR Magazine’s 29th Annual Exhibit Design Award with its design for Wargaming’s then-new game title “World of Warships” with a Bronze Award in the International Exhibit category.
Established in 1986, the Exhibit Design Awards honor the world’s best trade show exhibit designs.
To reinforce Wargaming’s brand and the militaristic theme of the exhibit, TTG featured a trio of arching LED rings representing tank treads. Each LED “tank tread” was 5 meters in height and 16 meters in length. As an introduction to the new game “World of Warships,” two water-filled acrylic tanks, each 90mm thick with a 98 percent transparency rating, were added. The acrylic tanks flanked a massive 8 meter by 4.5 meter LED wall with more than 1,000,000 pixels.
The Trade Group went above and beyond by hiring a team of Olympic synchronized swimmers to perform within the acrylic tanks, all complemented by music from an LS Meyer Melodie Line Array speaker system. The performances would commence between LED wall showcases of World of Warships trailers, live gameplay, and live streams from cameras placed strategically throughout the exhibit. The exhibit featured more than 100 different lights, all serving different utilities, and 55 gaming stations for Wargaming’s five gaming titles. Gaming stations for World of Warships received the most traffic.
